In-House Laboratory Services
Every day, each laboratory machine and instrument works almost as hard as our veterinary team. Our laboratory capabilities include hematology, cytology, parasitology, and serum chemistry, with familiar tests that include:
- Complete blood count (CBC)
- General chemistry
- Clotting factors (PT and PTT)
- Blood gas analysis
- Urinalysis
- Intestinal parasite screening
- Microscopic review of skin, ear, blood, fecal, and urine samples
- Infectious disease screening, including testing for heartworm disease, tick-borne diseases, feline leukemia, feline immunodeficiency virus, giardia, and canine parvovirus

Annual screening tests allow for early detection
Healthy pets benefit from our laboratory, too. With diagnostic screening tests for infectious or vector-borne diseases, including deadly heartworm disease, and intestinal parasite screenings, we can diagnose infection that is not yet visibly apparent.
Similarly, annual blood work profiles allow our veterinarian to assess internal health and track changes over time. With modern laboratory technology, veterinarians can now detect key chronic disease biomarkers months or years in advance, which allows them to begin proactive monitoring, therapy, or treatment well before signs appear—improving your pet’s outcome and possibly extending their lifespan.
Reference laboratory partnerships
While our on-site laboratory provides comprehensive testing for the most common pet conditions, many specialized tests can be performed only at academic institutions or large reference laboratories. If your pet requires advanced testing, we have access to numerous trusted laboratories across the country, and will process and submit your pet’s samples as needed.
