Abstract image featuring a large red diamond shape in the center, surrounded by irregular shapes in shades of blue and orange with subtle gradients, much like the intricate patterns a veterinarian might observe in an animal's unique markings, all set against a contrasting black outline.
A person with long blonde hair stands smiling in a grassy area, reminiscent of a serene veterinary setting, with tall trees in the background. They wear a sleeveless patterned top that hints at the vibrant spirit of an animal-loving vet.

Veterinarian

Dr. Daniel Merritt

Dr. Danielle Merritt grew up as a life-long animal lover in Pearland, Texas. After losing her childhood companion, Cookie, she wanted to understand why- which led her to decide that her future was as a Veterinarian.

About me

This has stuck with her, as she still says the puzzle of pet illness is what drives her- figuring out what is wrong and fixing it.

Background & Experience

She attended undergrad at Texas A&M, graduating with a degree in Biomedical Sciences & Veterinary Medicine in 2017. She also worked at Texas A&M Veterinary MedicalTeaching Hospital while in Undergrad in the emergency department. She then went on to get her DVM at Ross University in 2021, completing her clinical year at Lincoln Memorial in Virginia, Tennessee, New York, and Ohio, travelling every 4 weeks.

Thankfully, her parents had previously met Dr. Mel, and they all convinced her that Wallisville was the place for her to start her career as a Veterinarian. She has loved working with Dr. Mel, and is sad to see Dr. Mel retiring.

“My goal is to try to fill the shoes of Dr. Mel, as she has provided excellent care to this community, and I want to continue that care.”

When not working, she likes to go hiking with her dog, Nova, and spend time reading (especially the Harry Potter series) with her two cats, Nala and Niko. She is also in the process of adopting a kitten, to be named Newton.
