Dr. Paula Ramsey

Paula Ramsey was born in Illinois and moved to League City, Texas in 1980. She has lived in that area of Texas ever since. Dr. Ramsey has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University.

About me

She has worked in veterinary medicine for 30 years; the first 6 years as a kennel worker, veterinary technician and veterinary receptionist, and the last 24 years as a licensed veterinarian. Paula has always had interest in caring for her personal pets when growing up and has always wanted to work in the medical field. Naturally, veterinary medicine allowed her to do both. Dr. Ramsey’s favorite part of working in this field is, “Educating human families on caring for their dogs and cats as members of their family for as long as possible.” Her special interests are preventative medicine, internal medicine, nutrition and utilizing holistic and alternative therapies in addition to traditional therapies. Dr. Ramsey says the most inspiring part of her job is, “Having my patients happy to see me whenever they come into the clinic.”

Background & Experience

When Dr. Ramsey is not working at NVC, she enjoys camping, bicycling and bowling. She rides the MS 150 from Houston to Austin to raise money to fight Multiple Sclerosis, along with other training rides throughout the year to support other charitable causes. Since her heart attack in 2016, Dr. Ramsey and her husband love to find new recipes to fit their Ketogenic way of eating.
