Veterinarian
Dr. Ryan Critser
Dr. Ryan Critser was born and raised in western Kentucky on a small cattle farm, and as long as he can remember wanted to be a veterinarian.
About me
He loved all animals from a very young age, and being surrounded by animals made it a natural step to go into Veterinary Medicine. He went to Western Kentucky University for his BS in Agriculture and graduated in 2007, then stayed and completed his Masters of Science in Agriculture in 2008. He then went to Alabama and earned his DVM at Tuskegee University, graduating in 2012.
Background & Experience
He first moved to Texas to complete his preceptorship in Waller with another Tuskegee alumnus doing mixed practice with livestock, equine, and small animal medicine, and fell in further in love with veterinary medicine, but also with Texas. He worked for 7 years in Brazoria county in mixed practice, however an injury shifted his focus to solely small animal. He then worked at a non-profit clinic providing low-cost spay/neuter and wellness/vaccine visits for canine and feline companions.
Highly valuing honesty and integrity, Neighborhood Veterinary Centers was a natural fit for him, and with his work ethic, we are happy to have him as the primary veterinarian at our LaMarque location.
“I am here for the animals- regardless if the problem is big or small, if the times are good or bad. I want to be a part of all aspects of our patient’s lives.”
When not working, Dr. Critser maintains his hobby farm in Sweeny, Texas, and spends as much time as possible with his daughter, Andrea, and his two dogs, Winston, and Jasmine (Jaz).
